Sweden- must try Food items





Sweden, officially called the kingdom of Sweden, is a country of northern Europe, surrounded by Finland and Norway. This country is connected to Denmark via bridge tunnel across Oresund. Sweden is the third largest country in Europe with a total population of 9.7 million. About 85 percent of people in of Sweden live in the urban areas. Talkingabout the foods of Sweden, they enjoy a very different taste and style of eating from the rest of Sweden. The foods they eat are awesome in taste and you will surely love it. Here is a list of foods enjoyed in Sweden with a great passion among the people.

1.       Lingonberries are just like ketchup and mustard, also called lingonberry jam. It is very popular among the people of Sweden. This is widely used to accompany a variety of dishes; almost each and every dish can be accompanied by the jam. These are sweet in taste, but these are not used in breads. The people of Sweden can prepare this jam at their home, the jam is very easy to prepare.


2.       Crispbread is another Swedish food, which is enjoyed by the people of Sweden very enthusiastically. Along with the bread and butter, Crispbread is also present in the menu of breakfast. These Crispbread can be stored for over a year if properly stored. According the health ministry of Sweden, people should eat at least six to eight slices of bread including the Crispbread every day. There are some businessmen who have started the package selling of Crispbread just like the chips and they are making very good money.


3.       Another dish of Sweden includes the peas and pancakes. The pea soup and pancakes are enjoyed together, making them an absolute couple together. Since World War 2 every house in Sweden has grown eating the pea soup and pancakes. The pea soup and pancakes are also served with the lingonberry jam on Thursdays.
4.       Sweden is also good with their sweets, and average family with two adults and two children does can eat at least 1.2 kilos of sweets every week and mostly on Saturdays. Saturdays are also called as sweets day.
